Silvintri Longbow
Stats
Artifact
Faction: Neutral
Abilities: Attack +2, Archery
Ready Time: 4 (T1) / 2 (T5)
Set: Goody Bag
We are now going to review one of the all-time top 2 artifact in Warstorm (a toss-up between SoA).
It is ridiculously strong, it should have been at least a T7 so that it would be more difficult to obtain it and avoid people from spamming this. If you manage to get its high-tier version, you have an pumped,auto-archer in 2 turns.
Is there bias in my statement when I said that it should have been T7? No. Just look at one of the achievement artifacts we have in the game: Sword of Prowess. It's T7 version has ready time of 4, 2 turns slower than a T5 Silvintri Longbow. It gives the unit +3 attack and you must wait for 4 turns for it to go down. You also have to take into account that Sword of Prowess is an achievement card. Achievement cards are limited to 1 copy per person due to their inherent strength that they give to the game. Unlike the sword, Silvintri Longbow is a free card which can be spammed.
Enough sentiments, let's get down to the statistics of the card. Enabling a unit to gain archery and +2 attack points is enough for any unit with 1 attack to take down dragons. Any 2 attack units can bring down anything that flies. Oh, I would also add in the fact that the same is true for infantry units.
Becuase it is insanely fast at 2 ready time, it is very flexible to used just about anywhere. As long as you have a Hero that wields an artifact, this artifact always is one of the best options to choose. It is good in 1/2/3/4s battles.
Aside form its speed, it also accelerates the progress of the game. when your opponent's units are nowhere to be found, these units with Longbows can really take off significant amount of morale from the oppponent.
From the time this card appeared in the FB version, Flying spam decks took a great hit from it. The eagle spam 1s that was so popular during the pre-longbow era have disappeared.
On the birghter side, the advent of Silvintri Longbow has also given a boost for those squads that use a high amount of ground units. Most beast-type units, if not all, don't have flying. It really helped beast-builds be at par with standard builds because of this.
What are the drawbacks of using this? As far as I am concerned, there are no known drawbacks from this card. Just kidding! Of course any card, how strong it may be, will have a draw back, in some ways. As of now, I can only think of two: 1-Giantkiller-prone (although not much people use it aside from Dwarf decks and the occasional Delnors in 4s) and 2-having too much artifacts in your squads mean less units. Units are the main reason you win games. So if you do not balance the amount of artifacts in your build, chances are you'll be taken out early when consecutive draws of artifacts plagued you.
The cons are easily overshadowed by the pros of this card, that is why most people tend to spam it anyway. Aside from that, the 2nd con is not much of a factor since it has a very low ready value. Ask for an artifact from your friends, if you luckily pull out this card, use it. Even T2s of this card is good enough.

Speed: 10
only amulet of heatlh and chalice of healing are the artifacts faster than this
Utility: 10
increased attack damage plus one-hit capability against infantry and flying units is heaven-sent
Versatility: 10
one of the most legitimate artifacts for any number of squad builds
