Type: Hero
Unit/Artifact/Spell Slots: 3/1/2
Attack: 1
Health: 6
Ready Time: 8(T4) / 6(T7)
Set: Goody Bag
We have another hero in our featured cards, Tani.
Aside from being so rare (obtainable by replaying premium campaigns), what else does Tani has to offer?
She's fast for a Hero. 6 ready time is decent enough to be played. Her U/A/S slots is also interesting, as she is only one of few heroes that can hold 3 types of cards.
For heroes of her caliber, we want to make sure that what we put in are very good pieces and will create synergy with the other parts. Yes we know, Sigil of Azuba is the artifact, but there are times that you might want to try out other stuff that you might have overlooked. Dawnward tant is one of them, although a health bonus + reclaim might not warrant high play time. There's another elf artifact: Anden Longbow. Snipe 2 is also a nice ability which can really help in stopping those battle-scarred monsters of our opponents in doing more harm.
On to her spell slots. She has 2 spell slots and there are many Elf spells out there: Entangle, Choking Cloud, Lightning Storm and Beacon of Light. Among the four, my favorite is Lightning Storm. Lightning Storm is one nifty spell where you can destroy up to 2 units with Zap 3, Two Targets and if that's not enough, Tani can give the finishing blow with her own Zap,Zap. Choking Cloud also is a nice choice for big squad battles, but I think i'd settle with Elf Mati if a want a steady poison all effect. Beacon is also a nice effect, but is highly situational. It needs a heavy amount of non-immune enemy units to feel its impact.
At first you might think that she's the hero of choice for 1s battle for her speed but if you try to think of it, having too many Artifact/Spell slots makes her inefficient for 1s play. She's more efficient in 2s/3s battles where you can combine her with unit-heavy heroes to make up for her 3-unit slot. You can pair it up with Ally-themed cards to lengthen her survivability. Demon-Elf with Corrupted Healer or Human-Elf with Paladin of Light or Elf-ANY FACTION with the neutral unit Wind Spirit from the Monsters set can help in healing damaged friendly units.
The drawbacks of playing Tani are: 1) when up against immune and reflect; and 2) she has low "appeal" compared to other popular heroes. 1If Tani goes head-to-head with immune and/or reflecting units, she'll be taken out first. Mirror Contraption will mangle her without lifting a finger due to reflect 3. Tani is good, but with a very low attack point, she will be having a hard time dealing damage off to immune units. With 1 attack point, units with block would even make it harder for her to fend off enemies. 2The most popular elf heroes that I see as of late are Firestarter Arfalas, Matimilopeotryx, Aradan Flametongue and Aradan Silverhair. The other heroes I have mentioned can do more than what Tani can in big battles. Don't get me wrong here. Tani is one heck of a Hero but with her slight deficiencies in attack points and abilities, her stats are not well suited for 4s battles. She might be good in 2s and 3s battles, but she should stay away from 1s and 4s battles, just saying.
One of the most interesting heroes ever made. If you have a copy, I suggest do not trade it off.
Ratings:
Speed: 8
6 ready time for a hero is good
Utility: 7
Zap,Zap is a fancy ability and having 3/1/2 is kinda unique
Versatility: 4
this where she suffers-having that UAS slots with a not-so-compatible ability makes her not so good as she would have
